Andrew W.K. has surprised fans with the release of 'Temptation to Exist', his first album in five years. The new 10-track LP is described as jazz noir, representing an unexpected transformation in the artist's career.
The album trades his characteristic maximalist hard rock for an instrumental landscape featuring piano, brass, woodwinds, cello, percussion, vibraphone, organ, and synthesizers. Andrew W.K. produced and mixed the record himself, also performing a wide array of instruments including piano, guitar, bass, drums, and vocals.
Recorded and mixed at Valentine Studios in Los Angeles, 'Temptation to Exist' includes tracks such as 'Michael’s Theme', 'Nightmares', 'Manhattan Beach', and 'Insomnia'. This release follows his 2021 album, 'God Is Partying'.
