Joshua Kerry, 28, who is accused of murdering Ann Widdecombe, has been charged with preparing acts of terrorism, including against Reform UK leader Nigel Farage. Counter terror police announced on Friday that Mr Kerry faces one count of preparation of terrorist acts.
The charge relates to alleged activity that took place between May 2024 and July 2026. Mr Kerry was charged in July with the murder of Ms Widdecombe, 78, a former Conservative minister and Reform UK spokeswoman.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans of Counter Terrorism Policing described the charge as the result of a "hugely intensive and complex investigation". Mr Kerry is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday regarding the terror charge.
Ms Widdecombe was found dead at her home in Haytor, Devon, on Thursday 9 July, having sustained serious injuries. She served as a Conservative MP for Maidstone for 23 years.
