Antalya, Turkey, has been named the top destination for a last-minute autumn sun escape, according to travel insurance site Quotezone.co.uk. The analysis compared ten popular southern European holiday spots based on factors including average temperatures, sunshine hours, rainfall, sea temperature, and the lowest price for a three-night stay.
The Turkish city achieved an average temperature of 27.6°C and 9.5 hours of sunshine for September and October. Its sea temperature was recorded at a particularly warm 27.5°C.
Tenerife, an autonomous community of Spain, secured second place with average temperatures of 26.3°C. The Cypriot city of Larnaca was ranked third, also offering 9.5 hours of sunshine.
