Antler Icon Stripe dual-opening suitcase reviewed

A Condé Nast Traveller review tests Antler's Icon Stripe Dual Opening Medium Suitcase during a week in Amsterdam, highlighting its flexible front-access design and smooth wheels.

  • The Antler Icon Stripe Dual Opening Medium Suitcase features a flexible front-access design and three zip compartments.
  • The suitcase uses Himimoto Silent Glide 360 spinner wheels, which the reviewer found smooth even when loaded with about 25kg.
  • The dual-lock system allows both compartments to be secured together or accessed independently.

Condé Nast Traveller has reviewed the Antler Icon Stripe Dual Opening Medium Suitcase, testing it on a week-long trip to Amsterdam. The suitcase is designed to allow quick access to items without fully opening the case like a traditional clamshell.

The reviewer praised the smoothness of the Himimoto Silent Glide 360 spinner wheels, noting they made it easy to wheel the case through Amsterdam Centraal and skip a taxi in favour of a train and a 15-minute walk to a hotel. This was before the case was packed with around 25kg of belongings.

The flexible front-access design allowed the reviewer to pre-plan outfits for the first part of the trip and later rearrange contents without opening the case fully. Three zip compartments with netting provide visibility of contents, useful for documents that might otherwise crumple.

The dual-lock system enables both compartments to be secured together or accessed independently, which the reviewer said would offer peace of mind if the case were separated from them during long-haul travel.

What this means for you: If you are considering a new suitcase, the Antler Icon Stripe offers a front-access design that may make mid-trip outfit changes easier, and its wheels are reported to be smooth even when heavily packed.
