Apple Introduces iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and First Folding iPhone Duo

Apple has announced the new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, alongside its first folding phone, the iPhone Duo. These new models will be available later in September.

  • Apple has launched the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which will be available from 18 September.
  • The company also unveiled its first folding phone, the iPhone Duo, set for release on 23 September.
  • Prices for all iPhone models, including older ones, have increased by £100 due to rising component costs.

Apple has announced the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which are set to replace previous Pro models. These new devices feature faster chips and a variable-aperture main camera, and will be available from 18 September.

The company also unveiled its first folding phone, the iPhone Duo. This new model has a squat, passport-like shape with a 5.4-inch external screen and a 7.6-inch internal tablet screen when opened. The iPhone Duo is scheduled for release on 23 September.

Apple did not announce a regular iPhone 18, leaving the iPhone 17 as its standard model for now. The company has also increased the price of every iPhone model, including older versions still on sale, by £100, citing ongoing component cost increases.

For those seeking current models, the iPhone 17 Pro is highlighted for its camera system, featuring three 48MP sensors and a 42-hour battery life. The iPhone 17 Pro Max offers a 6.9-inch OLED screen and approximately 55 hours of battery life, making it Apple’s longest-lasting phone from 2025. The iPhone Air is noted as the thinnest and lightest iPhone, weighing 165g with a 6.5-inch OLED screen and around 40 hours of battery life.

What this means for you: If you are considering purchasing an iPhone, new models will be available soon, but all models have seen a £100 price increase.
