Apple has introduced the AirPods 5, setting a new standard for open-fit earbuds. The new model features upgraded noise cancelling and sound, which are noted to rival many plugged-in designs within the same price bracket.
The AirPods 5 maintain the same design as the popular AirPods 4, catering to users who prefer earbuds without silicone ear tips. They are available in two versions, with or without a wireless charging case and swipe controls, with prices starting from £119. This launch price is £10 less than that of their predecessors.
Battery life for the AirPods 5 ranges from four to five hours with noise cancelling activated, extending to 20 or 22 hours with the charging case, depending on the version. The earbuds also feature IP57 water resistance, allowing submersion up to 1 metre for 30 minutes.
