Pop superstar Ariana Grande has once again spoken out against the use of her music in a political context, after her song 'We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)' was featured in a TikTok video by Team Trump.
The track, from Grande's 2024 album 'Eternal Sunshine', accompanied a clip of Donald Trump with text discussing gender and sports. Team Trump captioned the post, "This shouldn’t be controversial! #trump #arianagrande #maga."
Grande responded directly in the comments, writing, "Never use my music again. Also, your truth is false." This follows a previous instance in June when she criticised the White House for using her song 'Bye' in a video depicting ICE agents.
Other artists, including Taylor Swift, Kesha, Sabrina Carpenter, and Olivia Rodrigo, have also objected to their music being used without consent by political administrations.
