Arsenal have agreed to sign defender Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa for around £50m. Manager Mikel Arteta was reportedly keen to strengthen his defence following William Saliba's serious injury and Jurrien Timber's return to fitness, with a right-sided defender identified as a priority.
Konsa, 28, who featured for England in this summer's World Cup, is expected to undergo a medical in north London today. He would likely compete with Cristhian Mosquera to deputise for Saliba alongside Gabriel Magalhaes and could make his debut against Aston Villa next week.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have made a £60m bid for Brighton's Carlos Baleba, aiming to make him their third centre-midfield signing of the summer. United have tracked the Cameroon international for some time, and while a deal is not yet agreed, talks are progressing.
Elsewhere, Liverpool have entered into negotiations with Inter Milan over the sale of Curtis Jones. The two clubs are yet to agree a deal, but dialogue is ongoing, with Inter reportedly submitting a €30m (£26.7m) offer plus €5m in add-ons for the 25-year-old midfielder. Liverpool would probably agree to a sum of around €35m (£30m).
Tottenham are also reportedly interested in Omar Marmoush and Savinho, potentially making two signings from Manchester City. Savinho has been a long-term target for Spurs, who considered a £50m move for the Brazilian winger last summer.
