Arsenal Women are gearing up for the new Women's Super League season with a refreshed squad, following a campaign that saw them finish second in the league but without silverware. The team has undergone a significant overhaul, with 11 players departing, including club legends Beth Mead and Katie McCabe, and seven new talents arriving.
Among the new additions are Spain full-back Ona Batlle, England midfielder Georgia Stanway, Switzerland midfielder Géraldine Reuteler, and German forward Selina Cerci. These signings aim to bring experienced top-tier talent while also lowering the squad's average age. Technical director Jodie Taylor has openly declared the team's ambition for the season, stating, "we want to win the league and want to take that next step."
Manager Renée Slegers, now in her second full season, has had a complete pre-season for the first time, with no major international tournament or Champions League qualifiers to disrupt preparations. This provides Arsenal with no excuses as they seek to avoid the slow starts that have characterised their last two WSL campaigns.
Off the pitch, Arsenal's revenue increased by £6.5m to £21.5m for the year ending May 2025. The average attendance at the Emirates Stadium for eight games during that period was 29,833, generating nearly £6m in matchday revenue. The club expects further progress in its next filing, reflecting an average attendance of over 34,000 for all 11 WSL home games last season.
