Wigan Warriors have surged to the top of the Super League table following a commanding 26-12 victory over Wakefield. This triumph marks their 12th consecutive league win, establishing a new club record for the most successive league victories in the summer era.
The Warriors' impressive form saw them overcome a strong Wakefield side, with Bevan French opening the scoring and Liam Marshall adding two tries. Adam Keighran converted both tries and added a penalty, giving Wigan a 20-point lead at half-time.
Wakefield showed resilience in the second half, with Corey Hall and Ky Rodwell scoring tries. However, Jai Field sealed the win for Wigan with a length-of-the-field try, putting the result beyond doubt.
Wigan now sit at the Super League summit, though Leeds Rhinos have an opportunity to reclaim the top spot on Sunday.
