Cardiff City forward Cian Ashford has been handed his first call-up to the Wales squad by manager Craig Bellamy for their return to the top-flight of the Nations League. The 21-year-old earns his spot after impressing in the early stages of the Championship season.
However, Wales will be without key defender Joe Rodon, who has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. Fellow defenders Dylan Lawlor and Ronan Kpakio are also absent from the 28-man squad due to injury.
The squad sees the return of Harry Wilson, Jordan James, and Ben Cabango, who missed June's friendlies. Captain Ben Davies, 33, also retains his place and could make his first international appearance since October 2025 after recovering from a serious ankle injury.
Wales are set to face Portugal, Denmark, and Norway in League A, with their first fixture against Portugal in Lisbon on September 24. This will be followed by games against Denmark and Norway in a newly extended international break.
