This prompted Garnacho's departure, and he subsequently did not join Chelsea's pre-season preparations as his exit was being finalised.
Garnacho's first season at Stamford Bridge, following his high-profile transfer from Manchester United, proved challenging. Despite scoring eight goals in 43 appearances across all competitions, he struggled to make a significant impact and did not fully win over the Blues' fanbase. The winger will now look to revitalise his career at Villa Park, which has seen its momentum stall over the past two seasons.
The agreement between the two clubs includes an obligation for the loan move to become a permanent transfer next summer, provided that specific performance-related criteria are met. This structured deal provides both Villa and Garnacho with clarity on his long-term future, should his spell in the Midlands prove successful.
Villa's Sporting Director has been active in the transfer market, with Garnacho becoming the club's fourth summer signing. He joins Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes, and Modou Kaba Cisse as new additions to the squad, as the club aims to strengthen ahead of the upcoming season. Reports suggest that there was considerable interest in Garnacho from other Premier League clubs, as well as teams in Italy and even Saudi Arabia, before he opted for the move to Aston Villa.
