New research from Booking.com indicates that astrology and auspicious timing are increasingly influencing travel planning. The company's 2026 Travel Predictions report identifies a trend towards 'destined-ations', where travellers adopt a more intentional approach to choosing when and where they go.
This trend is particularly evident among younger generations. Over half of Gen Z travellers (52%) and nearly half of millennials (49%) report that spiritual or symbolic factors play a role in their holiday decisions.
Astrologers have offered suggestions for ideal 'bucket-list' trips based on star signs. For example, Aries, who reportedly thrive on active holidays, might enjoy Costa Rica, while Taureans, who value comfort and aesthetics, could find Tuscany, Italy, appealing.
Geminis, seeking variety, might be suited to Tokyo, Japan, and Cancers, prioritising emotional comfort, could find the Amalfi Coast, Italy, ideal. Leos, who appreciate glamour, might enjoy Dubai, while Virgos, who prefer organised trips, could consider Switzerland. Libras, valuing a pleasant atmosphere, might find Amsterdam, Netherlands, a good choice.
