Azan Awais, the 21-year-old Pakistan batter, scored 46 runs in the second Test against England at Lord's. His innings came after he was trapped lbw by the first ball of the series at Headingley last week, where he faced 15 balls in total.
Awais faced 44 balls in the first 15 overs of Pakistan's innings, scoring off five of them. He then faced 58 more balls, adding another 38 runs before his dismissal. He was involved in eight of Pakistan's nine partnerships, with only one lasting more than eight overs, as Imam-ul-Haq was unable to bat due to a calf strain.
This performance follows his score of 98 off 170 for Pakistan Shaheens at Hove last summer, which was his first red-ball game in England. Awais also posted an unbeaten double century a month after his first-class debut and a century in his first international innings against Bangladesh in May.
