Authorities in Bangkok have declared a flood disaster after nearly two days of heavy rainfall. The downpour has resulted in homes, shops, and roads becoming waterlogged, with residents navigating waist-deep water.
Some parts of the Thai capital recorded 300mm of rainfall over 48 hours through Saturday. This heavy rain caused roads to flood and left some cars submerged, while also swelling the city's canal network and sending murky water into surrounding properties.
