BBC Sport is set to strengthen its women's football coverage as the 2026-27 season approaches, with an expanded Women's Super League (WSL) now featuring three new teams. The BBC will be the sole free-to-air broadcaster for WSL football, showing 25 live matches on BBC TV and iPlayer throughout the season.
The coverage kicks off with Chelsea v Aston Villa on Saturday, 5 September, at 12:35 BST. Following every live BBC game, a new 'The Women's Football Fallout' segment will offer 15 minutes of post-match reaction and insight from pundits like Fara Williams and Steph Houghton.
Further enhancements include the launch of a dedicated BBC Women's Football YouTube channel. This platform will feature original video formats, extended highlights of every WSL match, and a new weekly show, 'The Debrief'. Additionally, the 'Women's Football Weekly' podcast will shift to Mondays on BBC Sounds, with host Ben Haines and Ellen White discussing the latest WSL action.
On the BBC Sport website and app, senior women's football news reporter Emma Sanders will provide updates, transfer news, and analysis. For the first time, WSL supporters can also access dedicated club pages, offering a centralised hub for content. More bespoke content will be available on TikTok and Instagram accounts, alongside a new Women's Super League fan chat page.
