Bebe Cave's new multicharacter comedy, 'Swoon', is being performed at the Pleasance Dome in Edinburgh. The show explores the role of the muse and the experience of being seen but not heard.

Cave initially portrays Elizabeth Siddal, known as Lizzie, who was immortalised as Ophelia by John Everett Millais and modelled for other Pre-Raphaelite artists. The narrative also features the fictional Bertrude, Lizzie's sister, who seeks recognition from the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.

'Swoon' features Cave taking on various characters, including Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and incorporates dance sequences and pop culture references. The comedy uses slapstick and silly elements alongside an intelligent throughline, with jokes that may rely on some art history knowledge. The show is scheduled to run until August 30.
