Bloc Party Release New Single and Announce UK Record Store Tour

Bloc Party have released their new single 'Now We Can't Be Friends' and detailed a UK record store tour ahead of their upcoming album 'Anatomy Of A Brief Romance'.

  • Bloc Party's new single is titled 'Now We Can't Be Friends'.
  • Their seventh album, 'Anatomy Of A Brief Romance', is set for release on September 11.
  • The band will embark on a UK record store tour starting September 9.

Bloc Party have unveiled their new single, 'Now We Can't Be Friends', which offers a glimpse into their forthcoming album, 'Anatomy Of A Brief Romance'. Frontman Kele Okereke describes the synth-driven track as reflecting a return to clubbing after a romantic break-up.

Okereke commented on the song's theme, stating, "You can have these big feelings, but you have to be aware that when they go, this is how you’ll feel and, you’ll be OK with that." The new single follows previous releases 'Love Bombs' and 'Coming On Strong'.

The album, 'Anatomy Of A Brief Romance', is structured as a chronological narrative of a love affair, from its beginning to its conclusion. Produced by Trevor Horn, the 14-song record is Bloc Party's seventh album, following 2022's 'Alpha Games'.

'Anatomy Of A Brief Romance' is scheduled for release on September 11 via the new label cOnTAGIOUS LTD. To coincide with the album's launch, Bloc Party will undertake a series of record store performances across the UK, beginning on September 9 at Wax and Beans in Bury.

The tour includes a stop at Rough Trade East in London on September 15. Later this year, the band will join Muse on a North American tour and co-headline a UK and EU tour with Interpol in the autumn.

What this means for you: You can pre-order Bloc Party's new album and purchase tickets for their UK record store tour.
