The BMW PGA Championship reaches its climax today at Wentworth Club, with a substantial prize on offer for the victor. The winner of the DP World Tour's flagship event will secure over £1.1 million in prize money.
In addition to the financial reward, the champion will also earn 1,335 points towards their DP World Tour Order of Merit tally. The total tournament purse stands at $9 million, equivalent to £6.6 million.
Rory McIlroy, who previously won at Wentworth in 2014, is in contention, starting Sunday's final round two shots behind the leaders. McIlroy is looking to gain ground after losing points to Patrick Reed at the Irish Open. Reed, the current Order of Merit leader, did not participate in the BMW PGA Championship due to a hand injury.
