The shortlist for this year's Booker Prize has been unveiled, featuring six novels. A judge for the prize, who read 163 novels in six months, described the experience as hugely rewarding and fun, noting the extensive discussions during judging meetings.
The shortlisted works are M John Harrison's The End of Everything, Marlon James's The Disappearers, Luke Kennard's Black Bag, Rebecca Perry's May We Feed the King, Elizabeth Strout's The Things We Never Say, and Douglas Stuart's John of John.
The judge highlighted that each of these books has the potential to alter a reader's perspective on the world.
