Former professional boxer Karol Itauma has co-founded Club Eight Three, a private members' club in Medway, Kent, focusing on fitness, recovery, and longevity. This new venture follows a heart attack in summer 2024, which led to medical professionals advising him to stop boxing.

Itauma, 25, has not boxed since March 2025. He revealed that during a water fast, he experienced heart pain, and a subsequent A&E visit showed his troponin level at 50,000, significantly higher than a normal level of 0.04 nanograms per milliliter. Doctors at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford informed him that continuing his boxing career would be fatal.

Club Eight Three aims to provide professional athlete-level health and fitness services to hobbyists, including an on-site nurse, blood tests, IV drips, and cryotherapy. Itauma is currently exploring natural remedies for his heart condition, with the installation of a defibrillator being a potential last option.
