Brandon Flowers considering quitting music, citing personal struggles

The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has revealed he is considering quitting music, despite releasing a new solo album this month.

  • Brandon Flowers is considering ending his music career.
  • His third solo album, 'Thrasher', is set for release on August 21.
  • Flowers previously described being in a 'crisis' in 2023 regarding The Killers' musical direction.

Brandon Flowers, frontman of The Killers, has stated he is considering quitting music. He shared his thoughts during an interview, questioning how much longer he wants to be an artist.

Flowers, whose third solo album 'Thrasher' is due out on August 21, expressed personal struggles, saying, “I’m really going through it right now: how much longer do I want to do this, what does it mean, why am I doing it anyway?” He also noted that he consistently falls ill after finishing a tour.

Reflecting on the longevity of artists like Mick Jagger, Flowers pondered what motivates them to continue performing. He acknowledged that powerful moments in concerts could be a reason to continue.

In 2023, Flowers spoke of a “crisis” while deciding the future direction of The Killers, leading to the scrapping of a planned album. He indicated a preference for making music similar to their 2021 album 'Pressure Machine'.

His upcoming solo album, 'Thrasher', recorded in Nashville, is described as country-inspired and explores his early life in Nephi, Utah. Flowers will embark on a UK, Ireland, and North American solo tour later this year, including a performance at London's Royal Albert Hall in October.
