Coritiba defender Jacy Maranhao, 29, sustained an ankle injury after falling down a tunnel during a goal celebration. The incident occurred in the 41st minute of Coritiba's 2-1 victory over Chapecoense in the Brazilian top flight, after Jacy headed in a goal.

Jacy celebrated by running towards fans and jumping over advertising boards, only to disappear into a tunnel on the other side. He was able to climb out but reported twisting his foot. The goal was later disallowed by VAR, and Jacy was substituted shortly after half-time.

Jacy stated, "I twisted my foot there. It's a bit sore, but I'm fine." He added, "Centre-backs hardly ever score goals. So when you do score ... I just got carried away." This is not the first time such an event has happened at the Couto Pereira Stadium, with Cameroon striker Joel experiencing a similar fall in 2014.
