Afghanistan defeat Ireland to take 2-0 lead in ODI series

Afghanistan secured a three-wicket victory over Ireland at Stormont, extending their lead to 2-0 in the five-match one-day international series.

Afghanistan defeated Ireland by three wickets at Stormont, securing a 2-0 lead in the five-match one-day international series. Rahmanullah Gurbaz contributed 71 runs to Afghanistan's total of 207-7.

Ireland, who batted first after Afghanistan won the toss, were all out for 206 runs in 46.3 overs. Cade Carmichael was Ireland's top scorer with 32 runs. Gavin Hoey was Ireland's most successful bowler, taking four wickets for 34 runs.

For Afghanistan, Rashid Khan and AM Ghazanfar each claimed three wickets, with Ghazanfar conceding 29 runs and Rashid 44 runs. Rashid Khan also contributed 37 runs with the bat to help secure the victory.
