Great Britain's men's wheelchair basketball team has secured a bronze medal at the World Championships, triumphing over Germany with a 67-56 victory in the third-place play-off. After an initial deficit in Ottawa, GB quickly took the lead and maintained it, with Gregg Warburton scoring 20 points.

This achievement marks a hat-trick of medals for Britain's men, following their gold in 2018 and silver in 2022 at previous World Championships.

Meanwhile, the GB women's team narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth after a 63-50 defeat to the Netherlands in their third-place match. Despite levelling the score at 44-44 heading into the final quarter, the Netherlands, who were champions in 2018 and 2022, dominated the closing period 19-6. This fourth-place finish represents a significant improvement for the GB women, who placed ninth in the 2022 tournament.
