Nscale, a British neocloud company, has secured $3.36 billion in financing ahead of its anticipated IPO later this year. The funding, structured as a convertible note, was announced on Friday.

The investment round was led by hedge fund Third Point. Nscale will receive $2.36 billion immediately, with an additional $1 billion from existing investor Nvidia expected in mid-November. These notes are set to convert into equity shares once the IPO is completed.

Nscale, which filed its IPO paperwork last week, is reportedly expected to be valued at $35 billion on the NYSE. The company is seeking to raise $3 billion through the offering, according to Bloomberg. Since being spun out of Arkon Energy two years ago, Nscale has amassed over $103 billion worth of contracts, as per its IPO filing.

The financing is intended to support the company's expansion of AI data centres, with Nscale currently developing large data centre campuses in locations including Norway and West Virginia.
