British driver Andy Green and engineering company JCB have set a new world land speed record for a hydrogen-powered vehicle. Their JCB Hydromax reached a speed of 406.320mph.
This achievement follows Green's previous record with JCB's Dieselmax car, which set an FIA-certified diesel land speed record of 350.092mph 20 years ago. Green also holds the outright world land speed record of 763.035mph, achieved in 1997, making him the only person to break the sound barrier on land.
