The body of a British trekker, Alexander Harris, has been found in northern Pakistan, according to local officials. Mr Harris, 30, originally from Birmingham, went missing on Saturday while descending Musa Ka Musala, a mountain over 4,000m (13,000ft) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Khalid Iqbal, the area's deputy commissioner, stated that police and volunteers had been searching for Mr Harris. His body was located on a path in a forest, and Mr Iqbal said it was suspected he "most probably he slipped and fell."
Mr Harris, who also had Irish citizenship, had been living in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, where he worked for the global advisory company Adam Smith International. He had set off on the trek with a companion on Saturday morning, becoming separated during the descent.
Adam Smith International released a statement expressing their devastation at his death, describing Mr Harris as a "much loved member" of their team. They also extended gratitude to the hundreds of people involved in the search effort, including local residents, police, and rescue teams.
