Brydon Carse has been named in the Durham side for their County Championship match against Gloucestershire, despite being dropped from the England cricket squad.
The fast bowler was stood down from England's group for the second Test against Pakistan after a late-night incident in Derby was referred to the Cricket Regulator. He remains under investigation after being arrested and then de-arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Derbyshire Police are investigating "allegations of assault" in connection with the incident. The police have not clarified what part, if any, Carse had in the alleged assault.
Former England captain Ben Stokes and Matthew Potts, who were reportedly present in footage of Carse in handcuffs, have also been selected for the Division Two clash, which begins on Thursday.
