Kemi Badenoch challenged the Prime Minister on his economic policies, asking if he had made any cuts. Burnham responded by stating he had removed VAT on electricity bills and cut business rates for pubs and hospitality venues. He also attributed rising global borrowing costs to a global problem and 14 years of stagnant growth under the previous Conservative government.
Burnham also raised the appointment of Andrew Griffith as Shadow Chancellor, noting Griffith's role in co-authoring and defending Liz Truss's mini-budget.
