Several schools, including John Leggott College, Messingham Primary School, St Hugh's School, and St. Bernadette's Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy, have closed for the day.
Anglian Water reported that while teams were addressing an initial burst pipe in the Scunthorpe area, a second pipe also burst. This second incident temporarily halted water flow into the local reservoir, causing it to empty.
The first pipe has reportedly been temporarily repaired, with water now flowing back into the network. Work is ongoing on the second pipe to fully restore supplies to affected areas, which include Gunness, Kirton in Lindsey, Scawby, and Hibaldstow.
