British boxer Callum Smith is preparing for a significant challenge on 12 December, as he travels to Russia to face Dmitry Bivol. Smith, 36, will contend for Bivol's IBF, WBA, and WBO light-heavyweight titles in what will be a home fight for the Russian champion.
Smith, a former super-middleweight champion, secured the interim light-heavyweight WBO belt in February 2025 by defeating Joshua Buatsi on points. This upcoming bout marks his return to the ring since that victory, which occurred on the undercard of Bivol's win over Artur Beterbiev.
The fight between Smith and Bivol will be held at the UMMC Arena in Yekaterinburg. It is scheduled to take place the day after Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury's highly anticipated heavyweight clash at Cardiff's Principality Stadium.
