Campaigners have lost a High Court judicial review over the approval of a 148-acre (60-hectare) warehouse park in Thrapston. North Northamptonshire Council had approved the project, known as Thrapston Business Park, in July last year.
The High Court delivered its judgment on 30 July, with presiding judge Sir Peter Lane stating that the judicial review failed on all five grounds brought forward by campaign group Staunch.
Staunch had raised concerns about the council's assessment of a proposed replacement habitat at Lilford Hall Estate and the combined effects of the development with other local schemes. The group said it was "extremely disappointed by the outcome" but has submitted an application for leave to appeal on two grounds.
North Northamptonshire Council said it accepted the court's findings and would "respond accordingly" if an appeal proceeds. Developers IM Properties have stated the project would create more than 700 full-time jobs and involve over £100m in investment.
