England's Emily Campbell has retained her Commonwealth Games title in the women's +86kg weightlifting, delivering a record-breaking performance in Glasgow. The 32-year-old secured gold with a Games-record total of 278kg, four years after her initial win in Birmingham.
Campbell's dominant display included a new clean and jerk Commonwealth record of 163kg, alongside a 115kg snatch lift. Her total weight surpassed Malaysia's Siti Aqilah Farhana Draman, who took silver with 253kg, by a significant 25kg.
In other weightlifting news for Team England, Cyrille Tchatchet II earned a silver medal in the men's 110kg final. Tchatchet, 30, lifted a total of 374kg, placing him second only to Fiji's Taniela Tuisuva Rainibogi's 378kg.
