Joseph O’Brien's horse, Cannes, is anticipated to be a strong competitor in the opening Coral Rewards Shaker Handicap at Goodwood today, scheduled for 1.50pm. The Sea The Stars colt previously won a maiden race at Leopardstown in May.
Cannes was a favourite for the King George V Stakes last month but reportedly struggled from a wide draw and a slow pace. The horse also finished second to Derby third James J Braddock on debut last November.
Hatteeen, an Al Shaqab-owned horse, is also mentioned as a potential contender for a World Pool Quinella with Cannes. Hatteeen recently won a novice contest at Doncaster, earning a free entry for the St Leger.
