Carabao Cup Second Round Draw: Chelsea to Host Luton, Forest Face Leeds

The Carabao Cup second-round draw has been announced, with Chelsea set to play League One side Luton at home, and Nottingham Forest hosting fellow top-flight team Leeds.

  • Chelsea will play League One Luton at home in the Carabao Cup second round.
  • Nottingham Forest will host Leeds in a top-flight clash in the northern section.
  • Ties are scheduled for the week commencing 24 August.

Five-time winners Chelsea have been drawn at home against League One Luton in the second round of the Carabao Cup. This will mark new manager Xabi Alonso's first attempt to win the competition since 2015 for the club.

Fellow Premier League side Tottenham will also play at home, facing Championship opponents Charlton. The draw sees 11 top-tier teams not involved in European competition enter at this stage.

In other notable fixtures, Fulham will host League One AFC Wimbledon, while Brentford face an away trip to Birmingham. Ipswich are set to play Leicester. In the northern section, last season's Europa League semi-finalists Nottingham Forest will host Leeds in a top-flight encounter.

Newcastle's new head coach, Matthias Jaissle, has a home draw against West Brom. Everton manager David Moyes will return to Preston, where he previously played and managed. Premier League newcomers Hull will travel to Stoke.

The second-round ties are scheduled to be played during the week commencing 24 August. The 2026-27 final is set for 21 March at Wembley.
