Carlos Queiroz has departed as Ghana manager for the second time in three months, following a challenging start to their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign. The 73-year-old's exit comes after back-to-back defeats to Ivory Coast and the Gambia.
Queiroz, who previously served as assistant manager at Manchester United, had initially stepped down immediately after Ghana's elimination from the World Cup in the round of 32. He then made a return to the Black Stars at the beginning of September.
In a statement, Queiroz said the decision was not easy, but both parties agreed it was the most appropriate course of action, prioritising the interests of Ghana. He added that despite commitment and efforts, the necessary conditions were not fully established, and recent performance contributed to the decision.
