A Celtic supporter has died after becoming unwell during the club’s Champions League qualifier against LASK on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. The club confirmed the death in a statement released on Thursday evening.

Police Scotland reported that they received a call around 9:05pm on Wednesday regarding a man who had taken unwell at Celtic Park. Emergency services attended, and the 65-year-old man was transported to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he died shortly after.

Police have stated that there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. Celtic extended their condolences to the family and offered their full support during this difficult time.
