Chelsea have rejected an initial season-long loan offer from Leeds United for winger Mykhailo Mudryk. The opening bid reportedly fell short of Chelsea's expectations, but discussions between the clubs are continuing.
The 25-year-old Ukraine international is believed to be keen on a move to Elland Road and has agreed to spend the season away from Stamford Bridge to regain match fitness. Mudryk recently returned to football after a 20-month ban for testing positive for meldonium, making substitute appearances during Chelsea's pre-season tour under new manager Xabi Alonso.
Mudryk has indicated a preference to remain in the Premier League, despite interest from Chelsea's sister club Strasbourg and teams in Italy. Leeds have emerged as frontrunners due to their willingness to sign him without a purchase option, which would allow Chelsea to retain control of his future while his salary is covered.
Brentford also expressed interest but sought a permanent option, which Chelsea rejected. Coventry City have also shown interest, and a move to Strasbourg remains under consideration. The prospect of Mudryk staying at Stamford Bridge is considered unlikely, though not entirely ruled out.
