Chelsea are set to bolster their squad with the addition of Spanish left-back Pep Chavarria, with the club having reached an agreement with La Liga side Rayo Vallecano. An initial £16.2m deal, plus £1.7m in add-ons, has been agreed for the 28-year-old, who is scheduled for a medical.

Chavarria is expected to be Chelsea's ninth signing of the summer, as they sought a left-sided defender to replace Marc Cucurella.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have confirmed that goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has joined sister club Strasbourg on a season-long loan. The Denmark international, who was a key member of the side that won the UEFA Conference League in May 2025, featured 12 times last season across four different competitions.

In other transfer news, Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly is reportedly keen to fight for his place at the club despite increased competition. Both Chelsea and Manchester United have reportedly turned down the chance to sign the teenager, with Arsenal valuing him in the region of £45m.
