An apparent theft of sheep from Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm was the result of a miscount by farm staff, Thames Valley Police have confirmed. The force had received reports on 2 September that animals had been taken from the Chadlington, Oxfordshire, farm within the preceding 10 days.
In an update issued on Tuesday, police stated that the reported theft was due to an accidental miscount. All sheep have since been accounted for, and the investigation has been closed.
Mr Clarkson, 66, had previously appealed for the return of the animals, telling The Sun that he believed the sheep were worth over £2,000 at market.
