A man in his 80s has died following a collision between an HGV and a bicycle in Bromsgrove. West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the junction of New Road and the A38 on Tuesday at 15:34 BST.
The cyclist was confirmed dead at the scene, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said. A 35-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, according to West Mercia Police. She has since been released under investigation and is assisting with inquiries.
The A38 was closed in both directions between the A448 and Charford Road on Tuesday evening, and New Road was also closed between Wellington Road and Bant Mill Road. The collision reportedly occurred within the Bromsgrove Route Enhancement Programme roadworks on the northbound side of the A38.
West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
