More classic The Lord Of The Rings games have been confirmed for modern consoles. 'Middle-earth: Shadow Of Mordor' from 2014 and its 2017 sequel 'Shadow Of War' are being re-released on the Nintendo Switch 2.
The 'Middle-earth: Shadow Bundle', which includes the Game Of The Year Edition of 'Shadow Of Mordor' and the Definitive Edition of 'Shadow Of War', is available for pre-order at £31.49, a 50% discount from the usual price of £62.99. The bundle is scheduled to launch on September 30.
This follows the earlier remaster of 'The Lord Of The Rings: War In The North', which was released last month for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Aspyr, the rights holders for the Lord Of The Rings franchise, had previously indicated that more classic releases were planned.
In addition to re-releasing older titles, Aspyr is also working on a new, untitled open-world role-playing game set in Middle-earth. Warhorse, the studio behind 'Kingdom Come: Deliverance', is leading the production of this new game.
