Coventry have advanced to the Carabao Cup third round, defeating Plymouth 4-2 in a dramatic encounter. Frank Lampard's side started strongly, with Taiwo Awoniyi opening his account for the club and Jack Rudoni doubling their advantage within the first five minutes.
Plymouth, however, mounted a comeback. Xavier Amaechi levelled the score nine minutes into the second half, setting up an absorbing cup tie. Coventry responded, with substitute Ephron Mason-Clark regaining the lead.
Victor Torp then sealed Coventry's progress from the penalty spot, thrashing the spot-kick into the top corner after a foul in the box.
