A 30-year-old man arrested in connection with a crocodile attack on a three-year-old boy has had his bail extended until 17 December. The man, from Norfolk, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the incident at Johnsons of Old Hurst near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, on 18 June.
A police spokesperson confirmed the individual, who was not known to the child, was rebailed after initially being assessed as not "fit for interview". The boy was seriously injured after ending up in the enclosure and being attacked by at least one reptile.
The child's parents stated he received injuries to his arms, neck, head, face, and suffered broken bones, undergoing seven surgeries. He has since returned home and faces lengthy rehabilitation.
The Care Quality Commission launched an investigation in July into the care the arrested man had been receiving. Norfolk County Council has also launched an inquiry under the Care Act 2014, though it did not provide care for the man.
