David Blitzer, co-owner of Premier League club Crystal Palace, is part of a group investing around £1bn in a significant new stadium project. The American investor's NBA franchise, the Philadelphia 76ers, will share the new arena with the Philadelphia Flyers in the south of Philadelphia.
The new venue, designed by Populous, the firm behind Fulham's Riverside Stand and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, is anticipated to open in 2030. Blitzer's Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE) will become 50-50 partners in the venture alongside Comcast Spectator.
Blitzer, who co-founded HBSE in 2017 with Josh Harris, holds stakes in various sports teams globally, including Crystal Palace, Germany's FC Augsburg, and the NHL's New Jersey Devils.
