Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage is making a homecoming today, Thursday, 15 October 2026, as he leads his team against Lyon in a Europa League fixture. Sage, 47, has strong ties to Lyon, having been born nearby, played his amateur career in the city's outskirts, and served as a youth coach at Olympique Lyonnais from 2019. He eventually became Lyon's head coach in November 2023, guiding them to Europa League qualification in the 2023-24 season before moving to Lens and then Crystal Palace.
In other Europa League action, Sunderland, currently positioned 17th in the Premier League, are hoping their European campaign can boost their domestic form as they visit Torreense. Torreense, a Portuguese second-tier club, has already made history this season by winning the Taça de Portugal in May with a 2-1 victory over Sporting. They also secured a win against Lillestrom in their Europa League opener.
Additional early kick-off matches include RB Salzburg v Milan, Union Saint-Gilloise v Real Sociedad, and Bayer Leverkusen's trip to Lech Poznan.
