Daryz, ridden by Mickael Barzalona, has secured a rare back-to-back victory in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at ParisLongchamp. The four-year-old colt, trained by Francis-Henri Graffard, repeated his 2025 success in Europe's richest Flat race.
This triumph makes Daryz only the ninth horse in history to win the Arc more than once, and the first colt to do so since Alleged 48 years ago. Barzalona expertly navigated the 16-strong field, with Daryz claiming victory by more than a length from Bay City Roller, while Diamond Necklace finished third.
Trainer Graffard expressed his confidence, stating, "He's a good horse, he's a champion." The decision to keep Daryz in training at four, rather than retiring him for breeding, has proven successful for owners Aga Khan Studs, who received a winner's cheque exceeding £2.5m.
