Pearlman noted Mourinho's unusual worldview, including his reluctance to discuss his childhood, believing it irrelevant to his identity. The director also observed Mourinho's deep pain when discussing the loss of his father, Félix Mourinho, who died in June 2017.
Despite the challenges, Pearlman believes Mourinho's wit, insight, and charisma shine through. The director suggests Mourinho's career allowed him to embody a character he always dreamt of being.
The series concludes with what Pearlman calls a "surprise happy ending" – Mourinho's return to Real Madrid. Pearlman stated that Mourinho now appears to be a happier and more content person, believing he is where he always should have been.
