Disney has announced new price increases for its streaming services, Disney+ and Hulu. This follows a pattern of rising costs across the streaming industry, with these increases coming approximately a year after Disney's previous major price hike.
The ad-free bundle for Disney+ and Hulu will now cost $21.99 a month, up from $19.99. For those with standalone ad-free plans, the price for each service is increasing from $18.99 to $21.49 per month. Additionally, the ad-supported standalone plans for Disney+ and Hulu are rising to $12.49 a month.
Other streaming companies, including Peacock, Apple TV, and Netflix, have also raised their prices this year. Disney's entertainment streaming revenue from Disney+ and Hulu increased by 11% to $5.5 billion in its third-quarter 2026 results, attributed to subscriber growth and the effects of earlier price increases.
Beyond price adjustments, Disney is reportedly exploring new strategies for its streaming business, such as the potential introduction of a free tier for Disney+. The company also recently launched a new feature called "Playlists" and appointed Karandeep Anand as its first chief technology officer.
